A garden wall does one of two jobs: it holds something back, or it marks something out. Retaining walls deal with a change in level — a sloped garden, a raised bed, a driveway cut into a bank — and get the drainage and footing wrong and they fail, sometimes taking part of the garden with them. Boundary and decorative walls are a lower-stakes build but still need a proper footing to stay straight over the years rather than leaning by the second winter.
What we build
Retaining walls in brick, block or natural stone, built with proper drainage behind them so water pressure doesn’t build up and push the wall out. Boundary walls to match or replace an existing garden wall. Decorative walling — raised beds, low garden walls, feature walls — finished in a style to suit the property, from traditional brick to natural stone facing.
How we approach a wall
Every wall starts with the footing, dug to the depth the height and ground conditions demand, not a standard depth regardless of the job. Retaining walls get a proper drainage strategy behind them from the start, not as an afterthought once water starts pooling. We’re upfront about which jobs need building control sign-off (generally retaining walls over a certain height, or anything near a boundary) and handle that conversation before work starts, not after.
Garden walls are often part of a wider project — see our landscaping page if you’re planning a fuller garden redesign.
