Vegetation clearance is one of the most regular calls we get across Chester, Cheshire and North Wales. Plots that have been let go, boundaries that have disappeared under bramble and ivy, building sites that need stripping back before work can start, all of it falls under this part of what we do.
What we clear
The mix of vegetation we deal with covers most of what a neglected plot throws up. Brambles, blackthorn, ivy in mature growth, self-seeded sycamore and ash, overgrown shrub borders, leylandii lines that have collapsed in on themselves, and the bands of nettle and bindweed that take over the gaps. We are equally happy on small back gardens that have been left for a season or two and on larger plots where the ground has been untouched for years.
For larger commercial and development jobs we cover full site clearance, including the stripping back of boundary growth and the removal of larger self-seeded trees that have established on disused ground. Stumps can be ground out in the same visit where access allows, leaving the plot in a usable state.
How we work
Most clearance jobs start with a walk round and a written quote. That visit gives us a proper view of access, the volume of material involved, and anything that might need protecting such as boundary walls, fences, or trees that the owner wants to keep. We bring chippers, brushcutters and chainsaws sized for the work, and where access permits we use mechanical kit to keep the job efficient.
We take all the arisings away. Nothing is left in a heap for the owner to deal with later. Where there are trees worth keeping inside an overgrown plot we work around them carefully, and where there are protected trees on the boundary we check the TPO position with the relevant council before any work starts.
Waste, licensing and Japanese knotweed
We are a fully licensed and registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency. Green waste goes to a licensed transfer station, where the majority of it is recycled and diverted from landfill. The owner does not need to worry about where the material ends up.
Japanese knotweed is worth a separate note. If knotweed is present in the plot, ordinary clearance is the wrong approach and can spread the problem further. We identify it on the initial visit and offer a proper management plan with written records, particularly important where a property sale or mortgage is in the picture.
